((اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا غَيْثاً مُغِيثاً مَرِيئاً مَرِيعاً، نَافِعاً غَيْرَ ضَارٍّ، عَاجِلاً غَيْرَ آجِلٍ)).
(Allahummas-qina ghaythan mugheethan maree-an mureeAAan, nafiAAan, ghayra dar, AAajilan ghayra ajil.)
(O Allah, send upon us helpful, wholesome and healthy rain, beneficial not harmful rain, now, not later.)

Rain is asked for, and almost every word after the request narrows what kind. Three adjectives come first — helpful, wholesome, healthy. Then a contrast sharpens it further: beneficial not harmful. Finally the timing is pinned in that same contrastive form, now, not later. Twice the wording states what is wanted and then states what is not, rather than leaving the opposite unmentioned.
Abu Dawud records this from Jabir ibn Abdullah, said when rain is sought.
